Our Story
Our journey with saunas began decades ago in the hills of Vermont, during our first experience in a wood-fired sauna at a friend’s camp. The warmth, connection, and sense of renewal left a lasting impression, and we vowed to one day build a sauna of our own.
Years later, that dream came to life when we built our first sauna at home in Saco, Maine. The physical and mental health benefits were undeniable, and our passion for the traditional sauna practice only deepened. Wanting to share this experience with others, I started building handcrafted, cabin-style wood-fired saunas and took a leap of faith in 2023 by transforming this labor of love into a full-time business.
Saunas have become more than a business for us—they’re a way of life. Having faced my own health challenges from overwork and the demands of raising a family, I’ve come to understand the importance of nourishing the body, mind, and soul. Health is the foundation of a life well-lived, yet we face an epidemic of chronic disease in the U.S., including in our own family, where dementia and other illnesses have had devastating impacts.
We believe deeply in the power of the traditional sauna practice—especially when combined with cold plunging, healthy eating, and meaningful connections with family, friends, and community. Saunas are not just about relaxation; they’re a pathway to healing and vitality, helping us tap into an unimaginable level of physical and mental well-being while reconnecting with what makes us human.
